‘Is stream of conciousness truly unbroken? There was truly never a beginning to the series of experiences, so does this mean that there will also never be an end? Are there imaginative, ‘inner’ pictures that we all experience? Can we recognize them, and if so, can some sort of realisation follow from this? Should we subject these at all to the revision of conceptual thinking? Are we all parts of the same ocean, the waves on it, or should we just suppose that it is only the circulatory system that is common in us, in men? And to show all this virtually simultaneously – isn’t that a utopia?’

A tapasztalatok sorozatának tényleg sosem volt kezdete, és így vége sem lesz?
Vannak még olyan imaginatív, “belső” képek, amelyek mindannyiunkban élnek? Rá lehet ezekre ismerni, és ha igen következhet-e ebből valamiféle felismerés? Egyáltalán, szabad ezeket a fogalmi gondolkodás revíziója alá vonni? Mi mindannyian egy ugyanazon tenger részei vagyunk és rajta a hullámok, vagy csak tegyük fel, a vérkeringés az, ami bennünk, emberekben a közös? És mindezt megmutatni szinte egy az egyben, nem utópia?
